Finished watching the 2009 animated film, Mary and Max. This scene was just pure sadness, committing suicide after she lost everything including her most important best friend, husband, father, mother and her promising career. Really brought tears to my eyes. If the film had been nominated for that year’s Academy Awards best animated feature, it could have given the eventual winner that year, Pixar’s Up, a run for its money. Just this scene alone was as powerful as Up’s much-praised opening montage of Ellie and Carl.
